How to Bid

1) Create an Account

  • Go to Register and complete your profile (name, email, phone, address).
  • Log in via Login. You must be at least 21 to bid on handguns and 18 for long guns.
  • Non-WI buyers may purchase, but transfer/pickup must go through an FFL in your state.

2) Browse Auctions & Lots

  • Check Current Auctions to view active sales and lots.
  • Open a lot to review photos, description, and any noted condition issues.
  • Confirm fees: 10% buyer’s premium, 5.5% sales tax (where applicable), and a $10 background check fee for firearm transfers (per your Terms).

3) Place a Bid

  • Enter your bid amount and confirm. If bidding uses proxy/maximum, your current bid will auto-advance against other bidders up to your max.
  • If another bidder is already at your amount via proxy, the tie goes to whoever set that amount first. Increase your bid to take the lead.
  • Watch the lot’s “current bid” and time remaining. Some auctions may use “soft close” (time extends when a bid lands in the final seconds).

4) Increase Your Bid (Raise Max)

  • You can raise your maximum at any time to stay ahead of competing proxy bids.
  • Set a realistic ceiling so the system can automatically defend your lead.

5) Win, Pay & Transfer

  • If you’re the high bidder when the lot closes, you’ve won. Review your total with premium, tax, and applicable transfer fees.
  • Handgun buyers (21+) and long gun buyers (18+) must pass a background check; out-of-state buyers complete transfer via a local FFL.
  • Follow the post-auction instructions for payment and pickup/shipping arrangements.

Quick FAQ

Q: Can I retract a bid?
A: Generally no. Bids are binding. If you made a genuine mistake, contact us immediately.

Q: What if two people bid the same amount?
A: With proxy bidding, the earliest max bid at that amount has priority. To lead, raise your max.

Q: What fees apply?
A: Buyer’s premium (10%), sales tax (5.5% in WI; your locality may vary), and a $10 background check fee for firearm transfers. See Terms & Conditions for details.

Q: I’m not in Wisconsin—can I participate?
A: Yes, but firearms must ship to an FFL in your state. You’ll complete the background check at that FFL before pickup.

Q: Do you accept credit cards?
A: Demo site—no real payments processed. In production, card payments may include a processing fee; check the Terms.

Q: Will I get notifications if I’m outbid?
A: This demo doesn’t send emails. A production site would—keep an eye on your lots and refresh regularly.

This site is a static demo. No real bids, payments, or transfers occur here.
